As shown in the 3/56 Official Guide, Lockport was MP 32.9 from Chicago.
It was a regular stop for the Chicago / Joliet commuter trains #3 & #16, and also for Train #5 The Mail (Dp. Chicago at 8PM).

Each of these trains has a notation that they also "stop at 5th St. Lockport to receive and discharge passngers".

The Official Guide index has no mention of 5th St. Lockport, and the GM&O schedule dosn't show it either.

Anybody know what the reason for the stop at 5th St. was?????

dunno, but if you're a lockport fan, get onto youtube.com and search for some of the vids of Amtrak blasting thru lockport - there's nothing slow about the traffic through there.
