Heritage of MN ballast hoppers?

Can someone tell me the heritage of the ballast hoppers MN uses? Also does MN roster any "regular" open top hoppers or are they all hoppers with ballast chutes?

the four pocket remote controlled ones are new from Difco.
the other ones were ex Conrail but not sure of previous heritage.
