Doubtful you'll see anything. But you never know. Best chance will be 10-11pm.

In the last two days the SU-100 has come through Vernon in the 9am to 11am range. Thats the eastbound train from Binghamton. The westbounds mostly move at night leaving Ridgefield Park around 7-8pm so they get to the Vernon area around 9:15 to 10:15, but you may get lucky if for some reason they don't get out of RP for some reason.

If you have internet access while in Vernon I would suggest going here

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Susquehanna/

Most train movements are posted there.

Thursday's train was combined with a CP detour train, and todays train was combined with the CSX detour, AFAIK. CSX is sending one train each way per day over the NYS&W to open up a work window on the River Line. This is supposed to happen for the next few weeks. Typically the train is combined with NYS&W traffic and power.
