I was just down there yesterday (Sunday)...and covered almost all the same photoangles..including the shots of the GP15's...also recognized the photoangle from the old PRR Station at Duncannon...I shot a few from there yesterday....Did you notice the remodeling at the Old Bairs Tackeshop property? I visited a friend of mine who bought it and is converting it into another railfan oriented [email protected] large Station Inn type porch has already been built on the side of the structure facing River Road...

Yea . I did notice them doing work on the building. When is that set to open? That is going to be so cool!! I can't wait!! Did you get a lot of action when you went on Sunday? For me, part of the day was dead on Wed & half of Thursday was as well.

Spring of 2008 is the planned opening of the [email protected] will have 10 guest rooms....I counted 27 trains between 9AM and 5:30PM on the Pittsburgh Line on Sunday.... so it was a good day...We railfanned around Enola before hitting MP116 Cove, Duncannon Station, and the Stonearch bridge at Duncannon at Shermans Creek. We then drove up through Aqueduct and caught some action at a dirt road grade crossing at MP128.5 and then at the 131.5 signals at Newport....I'm curious as to how you got that distant shot of the Duncannon Stone arch bridge...Was that taken from across the river from the Rte 22 side???

In a classic case of 'don't try this at home' I parked on the shoulder of RT 22 & climbed over the rail to get up to the river's edge. I used a 300mm zoom almost to full to get the closer of the 2 shots. As I was taking that shot, a Soo Line/CP rail lead train passed on the Buffalo line behind me. I was only able to get that shot w/ the engines trailing b/c of the lens. I would like to take that same shot in summer. Are there better photo angles for the bridge than the one I got? I always wondered? 2008 I am so there!!

I usually shoot it from the dirt road along Sherman's Creek that leads back toward the tracks underneath the 11/15 overpass...I walk down the enbankment to creekside and shoot a broadside by standing underneath the overpass, or I get a tight angle of the bridge by shooting it near the end of the road closer to the tracks.

Thank You for the PICS. I have been in all those areas over the years. Brings back memories.
