Grove Street PATH station briefly closed
Jersey City's Grove Street PATH Station was evacuated this afternoon when a burning train rolled into the Downtown station around noon, Jersey City firefighters said.
Blankets that had been thrown onto the tracks got trapped under the train, then burst into flames after coming into contact with the electrified third rail about noon today. Commuters ran for the exits as firefighters arrived and doused the smoldering debris.
There were no injuries and PATH service resumed about 1 p.m.
