IITC, UP has a fairly big yard in Green River, WY. My question is what classification is done there and are there locals based out of there as well?

Before the Devil Train we handled soda ash hoppers, mostly, now its everything. I'll get some pictures on here, somewhere soon.
At this time theres a few locals here, eight of them are regular jobs, the numbers change time to time, traffic, budget, employees, factor into whats going on around here.

Insted of the train yarding at GR, switch crew busting her apart and making locals out of her, its taken out to the "Patch" as a large monster and the cars are dropped off at the right mines. The oldest conductor in my district named it the El Diablo. There is a good chance he's on that train in the picture.

Mr. Sorensen got a great shot of the train, uprr engineer. Thanks for posting it.

Nice to see things don't change between C817 & C819. GR is not bad and has a few decent places to eat. Rock Springs is just down the road to the east about 20 minutes. Nice easy yard to work in and the yardmaster(s) up in the tower are cool too.

Did you get cut back dude, back on the SLC to GR run as a conductor?

The wife did not like Vegas to much so we packed the bags and came back to SLC. So yeah, back on the ground for me. I've got about 70 guys ahead of me before I can go back to running.

Hey Sclhub---you don't like Salt lake city? :P

I'd rather be back east, FL, GA, SC, TN or AL. However, when I looked into getting on with CSX back in 2003, I knew it was either pay for schooling with CSX ($4100 with AMDG back then) or go out west and let UP pay me to get on-board so I came out west. I've lived in Denver a number years so I am used to the weather and mountains but I miss home and 50' pine trees everywhere as well as my sweet tea. And the lack of humidity is starting to give me wrinkles now too!

SLC is okay, much better than Las Vegas, but as they say, you have to keep the little lady happy or you are not happy. So we came back to SLC.

We are still looking at options to get back east sooneer or later with another RR. We shall wait and see what happens. So for now, it's back on the ground with the conductor's log book and enjoying the scenery as we travel by.
