SEPTA has announced that the express-bus service is there for passengers who may be bypassed by trains too overloaded to stop at closer-in stations like Ivy Ridge, which may happen as passenger loadings increase following Labor Day. At least one reader, as noted by a commentator, doesn't seem to read the papers.

It's funny how people are creatures of habit isn't it? I do wonder, though, if the buses would have been more successful if they went to Center City instead of the to BSL or El.

Grass is green, the sky is blue.

Except at 1234 Market Street, apparently.

A one seat ride into the city from your usual parking spot, even if you stand, is better than driving to another station, taking a bus, and then taking the subway.

Considering the fact that they rolled this out just as some of the Silverliner V's begin to come back....

Only the ones going from Ivy Ridge run directly to Suburban Station (well, via Manayunk and Wissahickon, but still) and honestly, the routing for that can't exactly be trusted to run on time because anyone knows that using the Sure-kill during rush hour is such a loss-leader that it's next to pointless anyway. Yep, creatures of habit...

At NTC they're still jamming onto trains while ignoring the more-reliable, more-frequent NHSL. Reportedly there's only been a ~2% switch in ridership.

But who knows where the NHSL goes? Maybe off the edge of the earth ... ?

As someone who travels from Manayunk or Ivy Ridge, I wish they had forced passengers from NTC to use the HSL. Would have freed up space and helped to keep the schedule a little better for the other stations along the line that don't have a viable alternative to quickly get into the city. As it is, most of the morning rush hour trains end up skipping East Falls, Wissahickon, Manayunk, or all 3.

Word is Regional Rail Ridership is down 25+%. And Nov 1, the TWU is threatening to walk.

+5! I'll bet some of them believe that the El fits that description, ha!

Actually, not just betting. There was a clown at one of the NHSL extension hearings who claimed "there's so much crime on the El that anyone who takes it should be scared s***less". UN BE LIEV ABLE.
