As a boy, my Father used to mention the ore, coal, and pulpwood docks being down at the harbor in Erie. (He worked at the pulpwood dock before it closed.) I remember the grain elevators still standing, unused, with the trackage still in to them. Were there more than one ore and coal docks( as there were an East Lake Yard as well as West Lake Yard)? I do recall him saying that the Cascade Dock was an old coal dock. I did find out through reading that the PRR shut down the (last?) ore dock in 1960, then coal in 1964, due to ports in Ohio having better harbor facilities. Can anyone shed any light on this?

Thanx!
