The ~0730/06-13-2014 drive-around showed not much going on, confirmed by D-3 giving away track west of CPF-385 to one TC and a bit later telling another it permission to pass Stop signals at CPF-414 and CPF-415. Other than that, the airwaves were as MT of information as the skies were full of rain. There was a company Sterling hy-rail boom by CPF-384 and some crew folk confabbing near the OHB, but not much else was in evidence. A trip to Greenfield showed the ROW, both FML and Conn. River, looking better than I can remember it looking since I was in college. For reference purposes, BA, Northeastern, 1965.

Stopped by the yard around 1700 and found 205 working the yard. They seemed to have 23K's train though. Lots of power in the pit, EDMO, AD2 power ready.

ED4 306-310 dumped 15 car loads of Ballast from North Greenfield south to CPF 385 today.

POED 3482-314-347 and a large train (1 1/2 yard tracks worth) was into Deerfield around 1600. Train looked like all 495 area traffic.

EDBF crew was OD 1500, but have been sitting in the trailer waiting on power. They look to have a decent train tonight.

Yard looked jammed, MOED train on GFLD runner.

604-613-605 on the ready.

3109-619-3489 in the pit.

606-319-507 around the house.

At Tyters is a monster 190ED job canned with 602-337-315 and roughly 100 cars.

Will there be much traffic west of East Deerfield next weekend (16-17 August)?

I know traffic is normally lighter on weekends but am not sure if the MBTA trackwork still impacts western MA.

The work is not on the freight main so traffic should not be affected

Swung by the yard today, pretty quiet for most of the day with just the hump ED1 working the east end. ED4 was dumping ballast in South Deerfield with the 512-330 23 loads and 373 on the rear. Around 1500 things started picking up. POED was coming down to Montague, but was told to back their train off on track 1 at CPF 381. They had BNSF 4169-NS 7893 and 65 cars. They were then told their leader was going to be picked up by 205. 205 had the lone NS 9338 and 67 racks. Meanwhile at Greenfield ED3 went out on the GFLD runner to bring in last nights MOED with GMTX 5000-5001. Waiting at CPF 385 was another MOED with NS 9421-CEFX 1210 and a monster 103 cars. They were told to drop their train on the Greenfield runner after ED3 cleared. The crew would then taxi to Noonan's to get an EDMO. Also, EDBF was getting their train together with the 373 long hood forward. They were going to also have the 510 for BF1 but something must have changed. Only other power in the pit or house was the 345-507. Missed AD1 leave around noon with the 605 leading.
