Ditchlights on the E9's

This photo is dated 1969. I thought ditchlights weren't added until the 90's.

I think the date is wrong. I believe it was actually taken in the late 90's. Here's a pic of the 951 in 1979, and it's a lot different.

The skyscaper pictured behind the lead unit gives away the timeframe of the photo. That architectural design is from the past 5-8 years.

why not get on the railpics website and see if you can PM Tony Wu who took the photo?

I'd bet it's a typo and he meant to type 1996...
