Since I'm not sure of the last run of the Golden State, the train RI & SP shared,Tucumcari NM,was the division point between RI and the SP,and
the Jct point with the Kansas City Mainline with the Mainline from Memphis on the RI
Station Building is owned by the town and is used as a Museum at this time.
The platform is fenced but can be used to see any UP action in the yard.

IN Santa Fe NM the former"Union Depot" shared by the DRGW "Chili line" and the NM Central(later ATSF) from Willard NM,
Converted into the "Famous" Tomasitas Restaurant, for true Mexican food.
The former ATSF station, now owned by the city,is now an public info center for tourists.
NMRX and Santa Fe Southern share the platform.

Although not "closed and vacant" both Windsor Locks, CT and Mechanicville, NY definitely are both "derelict" former Amtrak stations. I was surprised to see that the DH required a backup move in order to continue north towards Montreal via Watervliet.

New Haven Union Station was out of service and in limbo in the 1970s, before renovated with a grand reopening in 1985. Temporary facilities were used.
