I ***may*** have an opportunity to do some train watching in Pittsfield soon. Any estimates of train frequency in daylight on Fridays and Saturdays?
(Thanks in advance if anyone answers!)

Go to the Amtrak station and noone will bother you. The old Amtrak "bus stop" on the opposite side (track2) is a better spot for watching/filming/photographing.

Westbounds: 2 autoracks, Q283 & Q293 (both empties)

Q437 mixed freight from Framingham, probably by around 5 or 6pm
Q423 Q425 & Q427 are also known to run in midday, but hard to set times

Eastbound Q116, Q420 are sure thing.....as well as Amtrak's 448 & 449. If you have a scanner with a good antenna you may be able to hear eastbound when they go over the West Pittsfield defect detector at MP 155.5
