What ever happend to folowing engines ??

At Central Hudson Gas & Electric in Roseton, NY:
#146 a 25 ton GE
#153 a 110 ton GE

at Tompkins Cove (former powerplant)
#1 a SW8/900
#2 a SW8/900


at Castleton on Hudson at Fort orange Paper Co inc
GE 45 ton (ex Buffalo Slag #27)

Both locomotives, 146 and 153, are still at Central Hudson Gas and Electric (now Dynegy), and both are operational. The #146 was bought new from GE in 1951 and still operating for the original buyer 60 years later...pretty cool.

Are you sure of the date on that Ft Orange Paper unit? Maybe the slide was scanned in 2002, but originally taken far earlier?

The crossing over Rte 9J into the plant has been gone for years, and the last critter I knew of in there was an Alco S-something.

Are there 3 units in tompkins cove? I looked on bing and saw 2 units and also a black unit there

The Trolley Museum of NY in Kingston (along the Rondout Cr.) has a Whitcomb diesel electric loco, now painted bright yellow.
