Most unit coal trains on UP start from mines in Wyoming's Powder River Basin, and are destined for power plants at various locations across the country. UP serves some of these customers directly, while traffic may be handed off to other roads, depending on the arrangement...

Again, Jerry, you have to gather these random ideas, and form an exact question, or specific comment. Even with editing by UPRR, the post is too vague, for any exact comments. I won't lock this one, but you should rethink what you are trying to say. Thanks!!!

Some coal trains that go thru Chester go to the power plant at New Madrid. Those trains have AEPX hoppers, silver hoppers with green ends. Others go south to Gorham and then go north up the Mt. Vernon Sub to Mt. Vernon and go south on the former C&EI then on the UP/BNSF joint line to the power plant at Joppa. Some coal trains going to Joppa will get on the Pinckneyville sub south of Chester, and take that line to Mt. Vernon as well. Empties are the same way.
