What did the CNJ have in Somerville circa 1950? I'm working on a train simulation of the mainline to Bethlehem (somebody already modeled Bethlehem to Jim Thorpe). The track maps at http://raildata.railfan.net/cnj/homecnj.html indicate something like a wye near the station with a track pointing southwest from the wye and another northeast into the middle of the wye. Was there maybe a turntable, a roundhouse, shops, a coach yard? Searching for online images I found an 1882 aerial view but not much else.

Thanks for any help you can give. For anyone who is interested, screen shots of the simulation in progress are on my website at http://www.stevedunham.50megs.com/bc_msts_pix.html. The pictures of Atlantic City and farther down the page are from the 2012 Blue Comet Lines for Train Simulator. The newer pictures of the Newark branch and mainline are of the extension to Bethlehem that I'm working on.

I know that my attempts at modeling are not really accurate; as with any kind of model railroading, there are compromises, but I would like to have something resembling what once existed. (Most of the model structures and all the trains, vehicles, vegetation, and more were created by others, and I'm not suggesting that their work is in any way subpar. I just mean I'm putting together a simulation, not an accurate model.)

Still, what did the Jersey Central have in Somerville?
