Is there any up date on how the GP 38-3 are coming along at AMP? I noticed that Kevin Burkholder posted on Facebook that PRLX 2856, PRLX 2858, and LTEX 3280 were sent back on November 1, but the five CMQ B23-7 are still going strong. I did not know if this meet the GP 38-3 are coming along, or if the original plan was to send the the two PRLX units and LTEX 3280 back and the GP 38-3 would have already been done if things had gone according to plan.

Well good news on the Derby front. Kevin Burkholder posted last night on Facebook the CMQ and Milo have worked out a deal. CMQ is moving fueling and locamotive service to Brownville Juction, but car and locamotive repaired stay in Derby. They just going use a small area of the shop and renovating it.

It appears in this latest, 11/29/16 still video of Brownville Juction yard, construction on the new engine facility building is now underway:

I guess I missed the bus on the BAR paint job... was that always part of the repainting plan? Looks amazing

Yes, it was planned from the start.

Been looking into this when I have some free time. From what I can tell and feel free to correct me if I am wrong. Right now CMQ owns 19 engines. Some are inactive and others are being used for parts.

1x F3A EMD.
BAR 502 inactive

6x B23-7 GE.
5x active CMQ 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, & 2006
1x dead MMA 2005

1x SD40-2 GMD
CMQ 3057

10x SD40F GMDD
CMQ 9004, 9010, 9011, 9014, 9017, 9020, 9021, 9022, 9023, & 9024

1x GP38-3 GMD
CMQ 3812

Note: 7 to 9 more GP38-3 on the way and the retirement of the B23-7.

At the most, 4 B23's are in service, one of the 2 (2002, I think) in Rockland suffered freeze damage and has been OOS for almost a year. 2005 never ran for CMQ, as you note. I believe 2003 is also OOS, and has been for a while.

They do not own 3812, that is leased from LTEX, presumably under a long term deal because of the paint job...they also have CEFX 419-420 (GP38-2's), LTEX 3815 (GP38-2 in red), and a handful of LTEX GP35's leased. Until recently, they also had 3 PRLX tunnel motors and an LTEX SD40-2 leased, but they were rumored to have dropped those leases about two weeks ago.

I did not know about 2002, but I do know from a picture Jeff Bray post on Facebook that 2003 been on the Searsport jobs a lot, including Friday by itself.

I was wondering about that. When it first came out it sounded to me that CMQ had purchased the locamotive from LTEX, but as soon as the first pictures came out when I got to Brownville Junction I saw it had LTEX markings on it, but I had not heard anything abound it being a lease or owned after that.

Not sure which it was, but I was thinking one of the other B23's left up on the northern part of the system was OOS in addition to 2005. Maybe I'm mistaken and the unit is just assigned to Ste. Rosalie or stuck somewhere else in Canada. Edit: with a quick google search I see all 3 on the northern part are in service as recently as August. My mistake.

All the GP38's will be leased. Might be a Lease to Own deal, or just a straight lease. Don't know. Have heard they may not be getting as many as originally announced, but we'll see about that. So far 3812 from CAD is the only one, and the pulled the contract from CAD, gave it to AMP and thats yielded nothing yet...

It been hard to keep track of the CMQ Locomotives. Beside 502 and 2005 being stored at Derby, 2001 and 2002 on the Rockland Branch, 2003 on the Searsport Branch, and the barns on job 1 and 2 the rest of CMQ owned units 2004, 2006, and 3057 can be about anywhere on the system with the exception of the Rockland branch and six axles on the Searsport branch.

The lease units seem to cover the entire system with the only exception I have see is 420, 3803, and 3815 on the Searsport job a lot with 2003, but they even seen on job 1 and 2. It looked like 3815 was on job 1 yesterday with 9017 and 9020.

Note I don't see a lot of information about things on the Canadian side of the line except jobs 1 and 2 so there may be some units aside to yards and line over there I don't know about.
