Cassandra Railfan Night- August 9th-10th, 2008

After a few year hiatus, John Shuniak, owner of the Cassandra Overlook Motel and maintainer of the grounds adjacent to the Cassandra Iron Bridge at Cassandra, Pa will be reviving the 'All Nighter' at the Iron Bridge Railroad Overlook, at MP255 on the NS Pittsburgh Line, Cassandra, Pa...Saturday evening August 9th into Sunday Morning August 10, 2008. Railfans can arrive at any time they please...The event will last until 12AM? 1AM? 2AM? As long as a sufficient sized group of railfans is remaining on scene. The overlook will be lit by road construction type high intensity lighting powered by a tow behind generator/light set. Railfans are welcome to bring coolers with non-alcoholic beverages, food, grills, chairs, bugspray, but are asked to take trash back out with them upon departure. A nice opportunity to sit back, relax and enjoy Pittsburgh Line railfanning, and partake in night photography of NS West Slope railroading. It also will be an opportunity to meet up with other railfans and to put faces to names of railfans seen on the internet.
