Browns Yard 2004 Santa Train

As the holidays rapidly approach, it's time to see when the Browns Yard Santa Train will run.

For a quick recap, the Santa Train is presented by the employees of Browns Yard and the Freehold Borough PBA. This will be the 18th year that the train has operated.

Last year's train ran on December 13, 2003. An educated guess would be that they would run on December 11th this year. Does anyone have any information on this?

I've never checked it out. If I can, I might try to catch it this year.

The JCRHS used to do a Santa train as well... I wonder if they even still meet?
I should check out their website and ask on the CNJ forum I guess....

December 11th will be the date. should be the same timetable as years past.

What route does the Santa Train take?

From Browns Yard, the train heads west on the Amboy Secondary to Jamseburg. At Jamesburg, they go east on the Freehold Secondary into Freehold. On the return, they use the same routing.

In response to Bigdell (with thanks to wolfboy) the JCRHS Santa Train is running on Saturday, Dec 11. Departs Raritan at 8:30 AM and Westfield at 9 AM and 1 PM.

I guess December 11 is the "Santa Claus is Coming to Town/Santa Train Day" huh?

The Browns Yard Santa Train is coming up this weekend! Is anyone planning on going?

IIRC, the schedule was as follows:
Browns Yard: 9:00AM
Freehold: 12:00 noon
Jamesburg: 3:00PM

If that is wrong, please post the correct times.

Not exactly...the NYS&W T&HS has our trips scheduled on the 18th out of Glen Rock leaving at 12:30 and 2:30, then Sunday the 19th at Rutherford leaving at 10:45, 12:45 and 2:45.

I will be in Freehold for the Santa Train this weekend. This is usually when I get my family photo taken to use on our Christmas cards. Plus, I get an additional photo of my son sitting on Santa's lap in front of an engine.
