Bad evening on the Red Line

I sat in a car on a Shady Grove bound train, between Fort Totten and Takoma, in the same place, for 40 minutes, while they battled smoke in Union Station, and a circuit problem at Dupont Circle...

40 Minutes! I listened on my scanner....sounded like chaos....lots of trains with no speed readouts...hand brakes that wouldn't release.... an hour trip took nearly two hours...
