I'd like to add my own thanks to Mr. Ayotte for his efforts.

As always a very interesting journey into PAR's current operations.

Thanks in particular for the closeup shot of the combine. It confirms a lot of information and indications that we've seen over the years regarding this car and its more elaborate mate.

Not that it's earth shattering news but the aerial photography does indicate that #322 and its partner car are moved occasionally.

Here's a photo from the summer 2011 flyover that shows the pair parked closer towards the MoW equipment and the car shop tracks.

It wouldn't be Guilford if they didn't have old Propane/LPG/Gas cars used for storage, lol.

I flew over Waterville this morning.

The dead lines look a little thinner to me.

As for running power, I saw 2 units at SAPPI (noted with a *) and 17 others at Waterville.

Great fascinating photos, as always! Thanks for sharing them.

I love this picture: the paint on the Pan Am boxcar has faded worse than the paint on the old B&M boxcar next to it! http://samayotte.com/PAR_Waterville_5.l ... O_0329.jpg

I almost thought you had made a mistake until I realized the "two B&M cars" were the B&M car with a PAR painted car next to it.....lol....

Interesting to note Lone Tree (MEC #333) has gone back in under cover.

The Waterville 5 report is my latest, but many others precede it.

They are all referenced here:

http://samayotte.com/aerial.html

Most of you already know this, but every photo or video you take captures history that you may never see again.

Don't believe me? Consider my first comprehensive Waterville Report.
The date was 01/31/2010.
That's just over 3 years ago. Not 30 years ago. 3 years ago.

You'll need the Quicktime plugin on your browser to view the movie.
It's free. Take the time to get it, if you don't have it.
There's a link right on my page.

Look at how things have changed in just 3 years!

Sam,

Can you see detail in any of the photos that reveals the car numbers on the passenger cars that are in the yard?

I'm asking in case you have access to higher resolution than publicly posted.

The coach in MEC colors is numbered 322.
The coach coupled to it doesn't have any obvious markings.
The coach out back, sandwiched in between a pair of GP40s, also has no obvious markings.

My initials spell SAM, but it's Steve (Stephen A Mayotte)

Thank you Steve!

Even a casual glance will reveal that some engines are REALLY dead, and others look OK.
From the air, a broken crankshaft, blown turbo, bum cylinder, and a needed inspection all look the same.
Draw your own conclusions.

Remember that all photos capture a moment in time.
The 78 photos on the webpage represent only 6 minutes (1349 to 1355) on October 14, 2013
