Fifty (!!!) years ago yesterday - February 1, 1968 - was the first 24 hours of the Penn Central.

Hard, indeed, to believe that NYC has now been gone for a full half-century.

If anyone had told us back then what the railroad industry would be like today, they would have been sent to the loony bin.
