"Shuttle buses replacing service between Lowell Station and N. Billerica Station due to police activity in Lowell."

Apparently there's a suspicious package at the station.

So far 18 T-alerts for the PVD/STO line this morning. Looks like signal problems at Canton Junction. Lots of wrong railing, late trains "due to traffic," and other maladies.

And before we get worried that northside trains have stopped breaking down:

Fitchburg Line Train 411 (1:15 pm outbound) is disabled at Littleton Station. Passengers will de-train 411 & take extra train in approx in 20 min to Fitchburg.

Affected direction: Outbound

2030 was the culprit. Set was towed back to Boston by 3247; they went through Porter a moment ago. Assuming that it hasn't been broken up since last week, the extra 411/420 appears to be the 1638/SLC 293 set.

With the amount of cancellations and alerts currently going on the Franklin Line, looks to be a trespasser strike done by train #715

Providence 808 had "mechanical problems" this AM. ~20 minute delay

Couple of passengers tweeted out photos of the locomotive throwing up a good plume of smoke. Passengers reported no lights or HVAC throughout train.

WBZ claimed that Keolis said "clogged air filters."

EDIT: "Train Aficionado" (Jonathan Higgins)" got a good video. Loco #1059

https://twitter.com/railaficionado/stat ... 0139453440" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Official explanation in this article:

http://www.boston.com/news/local/massac ... story.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
The issue was caused by clogged air filters, a Keolis spokesperson told Boston.com.

The filters were removed and the train departed the station about 20 minutes late, according to the spokesperson. The train coninuted its route to Boston without any lights, the spokesperson said.

Worcester line is getting nailed by delays due to switch issues between Boston and the Newton stops (perhaps a problem with the switches at beacon park?) Delays between 10-35 min at the moment.

Now seeing alerts that reference "Pan Am Signal Problems" impacting Lowell and Haverhill. Lowell service being bused from Lowell to North Billerica, and 216 and 209 are stuck in place at Andover and Reading, respectively.
