Just wondering if anyone could confirm the date of the actual last run on the Wyoming Division- I've heard eveyrthing from late 50s to early Conrail, but late 60s-early 70s seems the most commonly cited and most plausible. (I have heard that into eraly CR days there was occasional local service on the Scranton end to a couple of lumber yards around Lake Ariel or someplace in there- any truth to that?). I know early CR and then PNER used the Wyoming to Rock Jct. to access the JEssup Branch until the mid 80s or so. But my key questions are, when was the last through service on the Wyoming? when and where was the line severed? and when was the last local service east of Rock Jct. and West of Hawley?
Also, anyone have or know of photos (could be in books, magazines, whatever) of trains on the Wyoming Div. (other than on the Pittston-Rock Jct. segement)? How about on the Roaring Brook bridge on the Jessup? I don't think I've ever seen a photo of an Erie or EL train anywhere between Rock Jct. and Hawley!
