Woman struck by train in Old Town Manassas

Few details coupled with a lack of familiarization with aspects railroading:

* "...one of the engineers..." (Note to insidenova: Engineers aren't the only crew members on trains, there's typically only one per train, and it's very unlikely the engineer would leave his locomotive to perform the duty of the brakeman or conductor.)

* "It’s unclear whether it was a passenger or freight train involved." (It wasn't obvious?)

Who ever wrote the article considers themselves a reporter - I think NOT!

A witness said she was behind the stopped train in her car when she saw one of the engineers walk around the train with a flashlight.

“Moments later, the police arrived and ran towards the back of the train where the engineer was pointing,” she said in an email.

It’s unclear whether it was a passenger or freight train involved.

Who, What, Where, When - all questions have yet to be answered. What kind of reporting relies on emails?????

The woman hit by the train is expected to live.
