Have any of the contributors to this site encountered any comprehensive all-time listings, on the internet or otherwise, of all the engine models produced by the Winton Engine Company (and its successor Cleveland Diesel Engine Division)?

Buzz me off line. I've been researching Alexander Winston and his company

I found a few sites with a history of these Winston engine. The one on the USS Atlanta is very good it used a 268 engine. Another one covered the 278 as used on the USS Bowfin. Plus a few photos on the 158, 176 and 182. The 201 was the one used with the Zephyr.

A good book on Alexander Winston is "Famous But Forgotten". Check out his patent listing and look them up on USPTO.GOV.

Phil, thanks for your input on this. The reason I was asking the question is that Winton Engine Company and Cleveland Diesel produced more than 300 models of diesel engines and other equipment within their numbered designation system (their engine models were generally named for the engineering project number). It probably is something that needs to be compiled before the knowledge base is lost. Maybe someday I can devote some time to it, but I wanted to find out whether anyone has already done it so that I do not waste time putting together something that already exists.
