Where exactly Nyack train station located?

How are you?
I just came to know that Nyack was a northern terminus of Erie railroad on west shore line. but you can not find a train station anywhere in Nyack.I have a vague idea of whereabouts , but not sure.
Does anybody know whrere? which street? It must have been scraped around 1950's , that is what I heard .
And I wonder why nobody ever tried to preserve it.
Piermont station survived, Englewood , Tenafly, you name it.
If you ever come to know the answer, it will be great help. Thank you.

and along the left side click on Northern RR of NJ milepost 18.5 - 28.5 you will see where the Northern Branch was in Nyack.

The Erie had its own line to Nyack, not the West Shore (CSX), which went through West Nyack.

Thank you for a quick reply. OK, It is not a part of West shore line, but Erie's own line.
What I would like to know is that where was passengers train station which once stood in Nyack. According to the map you mentioned earlier, there were three stations above Peirmont. It looks me that Nyack station might have been in downtown .
Does anybody happened know that? If you know , it will be great help.

The Nyack Station was just north of Brookside Ave (above Clinton) and East of Franklin (in fact the next st to the East is called Depot Pl)\
The S. Nyack Stn was at Cornelison Ave.
Grand View on Hudson at Station Lane.
Piermont (still there) Ash St/Hudson Terrace.

The West Shore W. Nyack Station was just north of Rt 59 (old 59 W. Nyack Rd)

And can you tell me , when was the last passenger service to Nyack?when did it end?

Last passenger train to Nyack on EL was Dec 1965.

EL Northern Branch trains terminated at Sparkill jan 66
thru Oct 1966, when all Northern branch pass trains were
terminated in the great cutback of Oct 1966.

I had heard somewhere that E-L service into Nyack got cut back because the State Highway Department wanted the right of way to build the approach to the Tappen Zee Bridge.

Far as I know, when I87 Tappan Zee was built they 'bent' the ROW to the East of where 9W now goes over I87 to S. Franklin St. in Nyack. The bridge and the ROW is still very much there, as a bike path.

CarterB is correct. Tappan Zee bridge built sometime before 1958. Would really like to see pictures of passenger trains at Nyack late 50s.

I was on the last regular train to Sparkhill. While I was wondering how I was going to get back, I heard some other railfans asking to ride back. The conductor agreed and charged regular fare, but with all three trainsets coupled together and running EXPRESS, it was a heckofa ride back to Hoboken!

If your in Nyack these days on the 'main drag' where all the shops are, it was where those brown brick 'housing projects' are today, south of the bus station. south of there is where the trail starts on the r.o.w.

I've never seen a picture of an Erie train at Nyack... anyone help?

Railroad Station

The Nyack Depot shown on this card was located along Depot Place (today's Railroad Avenue) reaching to Cedar Hill Avenue. A steam locomotive is shown on the turntable in the rear, where its direction is reversed for the return trip to Jersey City. The railroad service to Nyack began in 1870 and at its peak, ran almost 20 trains daily, in both directions. The "Flyer" left Nyack around 8:00 a.m. each morning, picked up commuters in South Nyack, Grandview, Piermont, and Sparkill, and, after a nonstop run to Jersey City and a ferry ride across the river, delivered its passengers to Wall Street in time for the 9:00 a.m. market opening.
