I was in Ohiopyle, Pa. this past week and noticed a relatively new bridge over the Yough to support the Yough Trail which has long occupied the former WM mainline through here. My last visit to Ohiopyle was in 1984, at the end of a rafting trip. I seem to recall the WM bridge still in place at that time...when was this bridge removed?

Beech, I see this is an old post.
The bridge was replaced within the last three years. You might recall the most easterly span of the original bridge was taken out to provide overhead road clearance. The WM was notorious for building low bridges over roads; the ones at Rockwood and Markleton were the same way; you felt you should duck when you went under them.
Since the one span was gone, the whole bridge was redone with the current, beautiful bridge.
My only gripe is that the trail folks might have used the existing bridge, and used some of that money to open Pinkerton Tunnel.
