West Shore restoration (aka "real" River Line)

Amtrak is running a special on october 14 and 15th on the River Line!

Sounds like after Newark....its gonna be down to NK,reverse, then thru Oak Island and up the Nat Docks/bergen tunnel/northern/river line.
Sounds like an electric and DM on the head end and a P42 on the rear, out of NYP. Just speculating...

That would be quite the "rare mileage" trip. I suppose it wouldn't be wise to even tempt myself by seeing if there are still tickets available...

I took the Saturday trip. It was operated with two P42s, one at each end, and an ACS-64 between one of them and the 9800, which was on one end of the consist.
