Were the SD45s CN inherited from WC in bad condition or good operating condition(On most part)? Why would CN rid themselves of these units so fast? I know the 6900s lease ended but why was CN allowed to derate these engines under lease? Was it purely the fuel consumption or age of these units that led to there scrapping/being sold? And how many are still on CN property, at NRE Silvis, and at LTEX.

WC's SD45 were in perfect operating condition when they were retired, sold and/or scrapped. They were replaced with junk IC and CN power.

There is no logical reason for CN's decision to retire WC's SD45s, except for corporate stupidity.
