Traveling through northwestern Pennsylvania today, and saw Erie steel caboose C127, still on trucks, with a sign "Caboose for sale - $3500". Steps were off and it was sorely in need of paint but hey - bet they'd take less than that if you waved cash. If anybody is serious I can pass along exact location details.

Thx for the info.

Unfortunately, paying for it is the easy part.

Finding a place to keep it, and getting it there
is the hard, and more expensive part of the deal.

I'd love to own an EL caboose, but don't have
3 months of free time and $20,000 for the rest of it.

I guess if you're in the RR biz directly you already
have the channels for inspection, movement, etc.

Or, if you're really rich, you can pay someone else
to do all the hard work.
