Sad news to report; I received a phone call Tuesday morning informing me that W. Gifford Moore had passed away on Monday, August 28, 2017. Gif was the last President of the Lehigh and Hudson River Railway, and was the person most responsible for the L&HR's inclusion in Conrail. A good man, and a good railroader.
