I see the Rinchem website does list having a rail spur on their Flemington site, though I doubt they've used it since moving in.
The propane distributer had a tank car on their spur last weekend.
Will the Lambertville quarry start shipping by rail again when the Lambertville track rehab work is done?

An empty Center beam flatcar was placed for loading just today, the third or fourth since June.

Rinchem received one boxcar at their site in 2014, nothing since.

There are no plans to fix the tracks north of Flemington Jct to the Quarry. In fact the Rt 29 xing was paved over a few years ago at the entrance to the quarry.

I'm trying to update OpenStreetMap to accurately represent your railroad. Can you post GPS coordinates of the southernmost operable portion of track? I spent an hour last night adding bridges and spurs and aligning your railroad to the Bing aerials. But I don't know exactly what portion of tracks you can now operate on.

If you want to take a minute and look at https://www.openstreetmap.org/#map=16/4 ... 4797974406" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; to see if I've got all the tracks correct, I'd appreciate it. Here's your system map, at least, as good as I've got it. Again, corrections appreciated.

Hi Russ. Nice effort. Thanks. The most recent System Bulletin Order has the following: "9. BR&W MAIN TRACK 6.00-6.11 IN-SERVICE
Black River & Western Railroad Main Track in-service - MILEPOST 6.00 to BOSS ROAD 6.11, meeting FRA CLASS I minimum standards. Maximum Speed for all trains 10 MPH. Rule 93 in-effect."

Work equipment can go further south, but the limit of 0.11 miles south of Boss Road is the limit for passenger trains.

Hope this helps.

Good idea! With respect to the red line on the system diagram, the parallel trackage at the north end at the Three Bridges interchange with Norfolk Southern is also BR&W owned, up to about the middle of the actual short connecting track (the one directly connected to the switch on NS) to the NS Lehigh Line.

Also, at the south end, in addition to what you show the track main track parallel to the river is owned by BR&W north to about the location of the quarry, i.e., to a point about one-half mile north of Route 202.

Hey guys--

Apologies if this has been posted somewhere else, but I didn't see it in this thread. I feel like this should be shared....this is quite a video here.....

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OQDSQpc ... e=youtu.be" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

(Skip to 30 seconds in if you do not wish to view intro)

It appears this was filmed during the September 2016 Triple Header day.

Absolutely stunning that the driver:
A) did not see/hear the locomotives and flashing lights (how?!?!)
B) was traveling that fast to begin with
C) Somehow did NOT t-bone the engine

Credit to Liberty Railfan productions. Videos like this should be shared and used to reinforce the critical need for motorists to respect all railroad crossing and be very aware at all times behind the wheel. I don't want to assume, but this looks like a classic case of distracted driving to me.
