Another Drunk Takes MTA for a Ride

If the MTA really wants to address its budget shortfall, it should start hiring better lawyers or better train conductors. For the second time this year, a jury has awarded a seven-figure payout to someone too drunk stay on the platform. Having ruled that the conductor had sufficient time to stop the train, a jury on Friday awarded him $7 million for his troubles.

That is why they should install platform screen gates or doors, so MTA can't get sue for people falling into the track. Because if they fall, they did it in purpose.

I'm sure for idiots with a gripe against the MTA "adequate stopping distance" is about one foot.

@FRIEDCHIKKIN, MTA is installing PSD on Second Ave Subway and 7 Subway Extension Station. I am looking forward to see this as a improvement to try new things and not just stay with the old. $2 Million per platform, $32 Million for SAS along. Really looking froward to see this in D.C and Boston (don't even think Boston will ever install them)
