Today's SLQ westbound 393 reached the U.S. Canada border in Norton at 0835 with the following:

RM-1 805
GP40-3 3805
QG GP40 3105
AG GP40-2W 3014
5 centerbeam flats
3 covered hoppers
1 tank car
10 propane cars
2 boxcars
9 hi-cube boxcars

That's 30 cars total, all empties.

Also of note is that trackwork continues on the SLR Berlin and Sherbrooke Subs. In addition to the the two crossings near Norton Pond, they continue to install ties east of Norton and have also dumped ballast in various locations between Norton and North Stratford (at least).

Yesterday's 393 was also of a similar length (roughly 35 cars) and was pulled by GP40 3004, GP40-3 3803, and RM-1 803. Unfortunately, I had to get to work and couldn't wait around for them to depart Island Pond.

Yesterday and today, they have been reworking the Stone Dam crossing between Island Pond and North Stratford.

Work on the Stone Dam crossing appears to be complete, 8 ex-CN ballast hoppers are loaded and ready to go at East Brighton, and the Harsco Mark IV tamper and Kershaw regulator were parked on the "House Track" in Island Pond.

The east end of the RR has also been seeing maintenance work going on. Ballast was dumped on
the shoulders at various locations either side of Oxford and onward towards Mechanic Falls several
weeks ago and bundles of ties spotted here and there. Hi-rail boom truck and other equipment was
parked at the South Paris station over night several nights recently but was too dark for me to
identify what it was. Taking advantage of the weather while they can.

Any pictures of the work being done around Norton. I have a cousin in Norton so I’m familiar with the area .Stayed In a cabin opposite the post office this summer and had a great rail fan view. Tracks were right outside back window!
