  • New Forums! NYC Area (Cross-Agency), ATSF, L&N

  • This forum will be for issues that don't belong specifically to one NYC area transit agency, but several. For instance, intra-MTA proposals or MTA-wide issues, which may involve both Metro-North Railroad (MNRR) and the Long Island Railroad (LIRR). Other intra-agency examples: through running such as the now discontinued MNRR-NJT Meadowlands special. Topics which only concern one operating agency should remain in their respective forums.

No, I'm NOT merging the NYC area forums, but creating an "over-arching" topic to cover issues which span agencies. For example, running direct trains from Jamaica (LIRR) over the Hell Gate to the New Haven Line (MNRR/Amtrak), running Amtrak to Jamaica, or through running of NJT/MNRR. Pie in the sky? Maybe. Fun to talk about. Yes.

I'm still working on adding topics for this forum. If the topic is specific to an agency, though, keep it in there.

I've also added forums for the Louisville & Nashville, and everyone's favorite (favourite if you will) Santa Fe, aka the ATSF Atchison Topeka and Sante Fe. I didn't find too much on the L&N, but found plenty of SF topics that may be old, but still interesting.

I will probably be adding more forums as I revamp some of the content, and will announce them here!
