I'm not sure which railroad or type it was, but a long time ago when I was I was visiting Ohio, our passenger train had LED lights on the outside which lit up the length of the train at night. It was really cool. Any idea which train this was? I can't even remember...

Railroads: NJT, Metro-North, NS, CSX, Conrail, Amtrak, MBTA, Morristown & Erie, Strasburg, just about anything and everything.
Locos: ALP-46, GP40P (all variations), PL42AC, MP20B-3, GP40-2 (especially NS 3010, obviously), GP30s, GP7s, SD70M-2/ACe, SW1500, Gensets, Acela, F40PH, GP40MC, Alcos (any, espcially C424s), and any steam. Again, just about anything and everything (except GE, cause they are Garbage Experts. Really, exploding GEVOs? Great job...)

those are used so on passenger trains, it indicates which car has open doors. there are ones on each side of the car to indicate which door is open, so that if someone was to trip in the vistible, then they wouldn't fall out of a train going 79 MPH. basically a fairly primitive safty system.

Railroads: Pan Am Railways/Guilford Rail System, St. Lawrence & Atlantic, Maine Eastern RR, Vermont RR.
Types of engines: GP9's (My very favorite :-) ), GP38's, GP40's, GP40-2's, SD40-2's, SD26's, SD39's.

There is a lot of variety in Maine. I see GP-9 #764 on Maine Eastern all of the time, and I love the way GP9's sound. That is why they are my favorite.
