Sorry, nothing. But for me it's difficult to go at Chosica depot.
A doubt came to my mind: could C40-8Ws be donors to reinstate the double cab locos?

Ah. They are probably for parts, but not for the double ended ones. Those are EMDs.

My guess is they're for the GEs up in the mountains.

There is in Lima a degradated place, between the factories of Avenida Argentina and the River Rimac, named Mirones Bajo and from a long time I wanted to take a photo there.
This afternoon I was driving on the road parallel to the rails thinking "when I am here there are not circulations or, in case of a train, it's night...." but, lifting the eyes, I saw a triangle of lights.
Car badly parked, a quick run that included a tumble, crossing of the railroad and this the result: 702 and 539 alone going to Callao.

Surely not a great shot (taken by the phone from the market parking) but it's first time that I see two 700s double-heading a train.
For the history, they were 701 and 705 hauling an ore train to the Patio Central.

Another market-photo. I was putting the shopping into the car when I heard a horn.
Potatoes, onions, meat and fish thrown in some way into the car, a quick run to go outside before the wardens close the level crossing and this is the result.

Incidentally, watching the black smoke on the right, seems that 701 is in need of a good cleaning to the injection system.

Note that the "pito" sign is the equivalent of the "whistle" one.

The industrial and low working class Carmen de la Legua district of Callao is longitudinally cut by the railroad that generally runs on an embankment that is also used as small garden and walkway. Today I encountered 701 and 1014 hauling an empty wagons train from the Patio Central. Not an excellent image (casually I heard the train and tried to shot it) but it's interesting for the location.

Today in the morning, passing a level crossing in the Carmen de la Legua district, I saw a "strange thing" approaching to me.
Badly parked as usual, came draisine #9 with a rail welding mini train that, because of various disturbing elements, I shooted exactly on the LC.

An horrible photo (I couldn't do better) but I post it because of the very interesting subject.

This morning the empties train passed at the usual place at the back of the market being hauled by 533 and 1024 (the last one not in perfect condition).
533 is an EMD GR12 built in 1965 as #33 for the Cerro de Pasco mining company that owned the railroad between the omonym town and La Oroya where it connects with the Ferrocarril Central.
In 1974 the firm was nationalised as Centromin and, when re-privatized, the line and part of the rolling stock were absorbed by FCCA (a sister loco is 801, with a modified cab).
From the images that I've seen, 533 has been nearly ever used on its native place, mainly for shunting, and indeed, along my time here, I saw it only another time, shunting at the back of Patio Central, but it was around midnight so this is the first shot to this machine.
A rare piece.
