If you look at the Amityville team track photo looking East, you can see not only the former grade level station, but look to the left. In between the power poles and the station, you can see the temporary station high-level platforms under construction for the elevation project. A few months later, the trolley bridge would be replaced with a temporary pedestrian bridge that spanned both the temporary station under construction and the former grade level. When the temporary station went into service 9 months after the photo was taken, everything was cut off and transferred to the left. Unfortunately, despite the Historical Society's and I's efforts, we couldn't figure out when the smokestack or silo was demolished. The only thing I know is that they weren't razed during the first few years of elevated service.

Priceless info, as always! I don’t know if you’re on Facebook or not, but on the “Long Island History” group, someone posted pictures of the Manorville station a couple of months ago. They originally posted them as negative images, but a couple of people Photoshopped them and made them positives. They are unique and very rare pictures and glimpses of the Manorville station. His name is Jeff Raynor and you should check him out, if you get the chance.
