Question for the experts:

Am doing a study of PRR operations on the Panhandle and connecting lines circa 1959-1960. I have the ETTs for the period, and would like to know what names, if any, the following trains had:

4
7
13
14
30
31
32
70
71
72
73

78
86
87
92
93
303
304
305
306
308
315

Thanks in advance for any help given.

These are names from a 1953 Official Guide. They probably didn't change much, if at all.

3 - The Penn Texas (New York-St. Louis)
4 - The Penn Texas (St. Louis-New York)
7
13 - no name (Mail & Express - New York-Pittsburgh)
14 - no name (Mail & Express - Pittsburgh-New York)
30 - "Spirit of St. Louis" (St. Louis-New York)
31 - "Spirit of St. Louis" (New York-St. Louis)
32 - The St. Louisan (St. Louis-New York)
70 - The Admiral (Chicago-New York)
71 - The Admiral (New York-Chicago)
72 - The Juniata (Pittsburgh-New York)
73 - *The Juniata (New York-Pittsburgh)
74 - The Duquesne (Pittsburgh-New York)
75 - The Duquesne (New York-Pittsburgh)
77
78
86
87
92
93
303 - The South Wind (Miami-Chicago)
304 - The South Wind (Chicago-Miami)
305 - appears to be Indianapolis-Chicago
306 - appears to be Chicago-Indianapolis
308 - Blue Grass Special (Chicago-Louisville)
315 - Chicago Daylight Express (Louisville-Chicago)

* The Juniata did not exist westbound at this time. At some later date, The Juniata ran from Philadelphia to Pittsburgh, presumably carrying this number.

I found no traces of the others in my 1953 official guide ... sorry.
