Since the Railway Techology forum is no longer around (Was it there in the first place?) , here is a repost from what I posted on the diesellocomotives group at Yahoo. I hope it is formated correctly

Since the US Patent and Trademark office(www.uspto.gov)has made their information available on-line, I have search the 105 class (railroad rolling stock) for something of interest (Raymond Loewry DID have a proposal for streamlining the NYC Hudson - but that's not this topic!). I have gone through 60% of the series (You would not believe how many hopper doors they came up with!!). I have already cataloged anything to do with the M-10000.
So here are my finding

2,190,144, 13 Feb 40, Martin P. Blomberg and others, Railway car
2,230,580, 4 Feb 41, Everett E. Adams and others, Motor car
2,242,190, 13 May 41, Martin P. Blomberg and others, Car truck frame
2,247,273, 24 Jun 41, Martin P Blomberg, Framing

Some designs were used on the M-10001 and M-10002 as well.
The 4 Feb 41 patent gives a good idea how the engine room was laid out.

As you may know, Martin P Blomberg was hired away from Pullman to EMD. Mr. Blomberg specialties were trucks and bodies. Mr. Blomberg has many patents from both Pullman and EMD (such as the "Blomberg" truck and the welded underframe for switchers).

Since I'm also a subway fan (NY City), I noted a few patents were also used on the Brooklyn and Manhattan Transit (BMT) articulated trains that were from Pullman from the same era.

Stranger than fact:
The M-10000 design patent is numbered D100,000. The train was running in 1934!
The Zephyr design patent was approved BEFORE the M-10000.
