Lackawanna Sussex Branch Service

In the late 1950's and early 1960's weekday passenger service on the Lackawanna Sussex Branch consisted of a single train running between Newton and Hoboken.
Weekend service also saw one train each way but it was extended about 9 miles to also serve Lafayette and Branchville. What was located at these other two stations that required weekend but not weekday service? Thank you in advance for any information.

There was a Borden Creamery in Branchville that was served by a Lackawanna milk train. Not sure that was only on weekends however.

I think keeping the one train a week to Branchville was more a way of avoiding a hearing in front of the State's PUC. Since the Hoboken to Branchville run was entirely within the state of NJ they would have to approve the complete discontinuance of service north (timetable west) of Newton.

The weekend service operated both Saturday and Sunday, but different times both days.
