A piece of railroading history has found a home in Carbondale.
The Carbondale Historical Society has bought a D&H Railroad caboose in "mint condition" from a company in Vermont and expects the car to arrive in the city Friday, said S. Robert Powell, Ph.D., historical society executive director.
"This is quite remarkable," he said. "There are a couple other known examples of the same caboose in private collections, but the fact this one would become available is quite extraordinary."
