Does anyone have information on the 4 Ex Erie Lackawanna coaches that went to the D&H in the 1970's. They were 31 thru 34.

31 “Ausable River”
32 “Bulwagga Bay”
33 “Schroon Lake”
34 “Whiteface Mountain”

Here's a total breakdown:

DL&W 302, EL 1302, D&H 31/Ausable River
303, 1303, 32/Bulwagga Bay
309, 1309, 33/Mount Marcy/Schroon Lake
313, 1313, 34/Whiteface Mountain

Per the Doug Lezette D&H Passenger Trains book, they also had ex DL&W coach #2183 (DL&W/EL number unknown) but this car did not see service.

Also per Lezette, all the above cars, save the LIRR car, were burned and scrapped in CT by 1985. Other DL&W cars survive.

MTA/PC/LIRR coach 2183 was built as DL&W 312, later EL 1312. This car may or not have been identified as D&H 35. I presume this car was eventually scrapped. For a photo of 2183 on LIRR, go to http://www.dominionrailvoyages.com/jhd/ ... aches.html and scroll down to the fifth photo on the page.

I have a few other photos of these D&H former DL&W/EL cars in service on The Adirondack and later on MTA Hudson Line commuter trains, as well as having ridden some miles in these cars on The Adirondack between 1974 and 1977.
