Ghost Hopper

This morning, driving to work along the old Q KC-Lincoln-Omaha mainline (now BNSF), there was a grain drag coming out of the West Leavenworth siding.

Smack in the middle, deeply weathered/rusted, was a hopper with

D E L A W A R E
A N D
H U D S O N

and the "The D&H" shield on its flanks.

Didn't see whose reporting marks the car.

Thought some of you might be interested.

It could be one of those stray cars that has been off D&H property for years, whereabouts unknown. There are some hoppers with GTI reporting marks that Guilford never bothered to repaint when they were hijacked from the D&H back in the late 80's. If it still carries D&H reporting marks, don't tell GTI, they'll want to get their hands on it right away.
