Back in the early '90s there was a beat up E8A behind the Colonie Shops. I actually saw it get taken out by SC-1 or 3. Does anyone know why it was there and where it may have gone?

I believe it is on the north side of route 20 near I want to say Guilderland in NYC colors at the place which was supposed to be the ice cream stand.

As for the why, it was owned by a railfan, IIRC he had 2 or 3 of them inside at one point. I presume you mean this one:
