My impression was the same; that these would be, more or less, the same dimensions as a Genesis. I have only seen these in passing when on assignment in Southampton but by eyeball they do look taller.

In the "for what it's worth" category, recently I happened upon two HSPs that were in transit from the builder. One was coupled back to back with a GP40. As the GP was under the control of my railroad I climbed the rear hood grabs and eyeballed the difference in height of the hoods. The GP40 hood, not the fans, may be one or two inches higher than the HSP. Safe to say we will not be seeing an HSP in Penn Station anytime soon.
