I received my very first Pentrex railroad video today: "U-Boat
Survivors."

Having never seen a Pentrex video before, I always wondered what all
the fuss was about. Now I understand why Pentrex has such a
legendary reputation in the railfan world. Everything about this
video -- the picture quality, the sound quality, the narration -- is
professional.

This particular production features the entire GE Universal Series of
locomotives, from the first unit built in 1959 to the last unit built
in 1977. I was surprised and delighted to find some Guilford action
on the tape (including my beloved MEC 407!), which for some reason
isn't listed in the description text on the back cover. There is
a "boat" load of Providence & Worcester action as well. I was
somewhat annoyed by the way the narrator pronounced Worcester
("Wershter"), but the excellent quality of the video itself certainly
makes up for one instance of bad pronunciation.

"U-Boat Survivors" is currently on sale for just $9.95 -- a heck of a
bargain compared to the regular price of $39.95.

And the very LAST U-boat still survives and operates in Connecticut as Naugatuck Railroad 2203, a U23B built in July 1977 for Conrail as CR 2798. It was sold to P&W in 1990 and became their 2203, and was bought by NAUG in 2003.

Had bought a lot of Pentrex tapes many years ago and recommend them much.
In my opinion Pentrex produces the best railway videotapes and DVD´s on the market, if anybody offers a cheap one don´t ask - buy it.

(I got no money or special conditions from Pentrex and have bought my tapes via Walthers at regular prices but never have repented the decision !!!
