Yes, there is one, and possibly a second. The first is an 0-6-0 switcher that was BR&P #152, later to become B&O #1192. It currently resides in disassembled form in Belleview, OH, and has changed hands a few times, with each owner passing it off to another after finding out it isn't in operable condition, or not having enough money to move/reassemble it. The Salamanca Rail Museum in Salamanca, NY, is trying to raise money to move it to that location for reassembly, cosmetic restoration, and eventual display.

There may be a second ex-BR&P locomotive in existence (#39), though that is unconfirmed, due to its current residency in Cuba, and it is known to be in very poor condition, and may by now have been scrapped.

Details on these locomotives may be found in William Edson's classic reference, Steam Locomotives of the B&O, An All-Time Roster, available from the B&O RR Historical Society. Additional thanks go to those at the Yahoo! BR&P forum who provided assistance in getting you an answer.

There is a guy that lives near Punxsutawney that works / owns Punxsy Boiler Works.

He is a avid rr restorer and collector. He has part of a locomotive / boiler in his yard, you might want to look into if it was part of the BR &P, my guess is that it was at one time.

If you come in off I 80 on RT 36 south, his house is on the right hand side of the road, across from Station Square and he has a Caboose on rails in his yard.

One other place to look is Kovalchick brothers salvage in Sykesville PA.

If you look at the old gutted out buildings on the right hand side of the road along RT 119 N - when you are coming into town, when you go past the road for Kramer Mines, and before you get to Gruda Metals Corp = the site of the old mines, you will see a locomotive in the yard behind the buildings.

Some people who have been in the yard said he even has a WW II Submarine back there.

Nothing would surprise me - because their family bought up many of the old mines and towns that the BR & P built and operated until the deep mining of coal became unprofitable in Jefferson County Pennsylvania.

Mikes Company is the one that is in Sykesville PA - http://maps.google.com/maps/place?hl=en ... 3960562876

I think that it is managed by his grandson Steve!

Both of the original owners would have to be somewhere in the neighborhood of 100 years old, because I can remember paying my parents rent when I was a kid in the late 60's and they were probably in their 50's at that time.

One of the Kovalchicks (George) is a B&ORHS member and frequents the Yahoo forum for the BR&P Railway. You might want to join this forum and post what you state here for confirmation's sake. Here is the URL for that forum: http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/BRPRy/

I tried to join that forum and it would not let me.

I do not know if it was due to my internet settings or because the forum was closed.

Hindsight is 20/20 and my grandparents never thought of saving old things for the future because in their day everything was old and when it wore out and you could not patch it anymore, you made something else out of it or just threw it away.

Scrap happy old people junked lot's of stuff that would be priceless today.

How many automobiles my grandmother sold for $20 or even gave away when I was a kid.
