Hi Folks, Tom from NYC here. I just saw some amazing pics/videos of the B&O in action question, Does any one know if any of the B&O GP-9s are still around? I saw some pics of the AIX 33005 & 33007? Does any know if any others are still around Many thanks. :-) PS any rosters would be a good help as well.

I'm sure there are at least a few. Your best bet is to tap into the B&O Yahoo discussion group, groups.yahoo.com/group/Baltimore_and_Ohio. Jim Mischke, who is the group administrator, has tracked them all down, along with all other B&O diesels.

Where have you searched? I typed in "baltimore & ohio diesel roster" into Google and got several hits, including:

http://www.american-rails.com/baltimore ... oster.html

and it lists the following:
· EMD GP7 #915: Preserved at the B&O Railroad Museum.

· EMD GP9 #3414: Preserved at the B&O Railroad Museum.

· EMD GP9 #3411: Preserved and in operation on the Potomac Eagle as #6604.
also this: http://www.northeast.railfan.net/bo.html

Good luck in your search!

The Seminole Gulf Railroad had originally 4 former B&O GP-9's. #6593(SGLR 571-currently used for parts-Ft. Myers Fl. Division) #6213(SGLR 572 Scrapped 2008) #6614(SGLR 576-currently used for parts-Sarasota Fl. Division) #6617(SGLR 577. Currently in service in the Sarasota Florida Division.) of the 4 only 6617(577) is still being used. #6614(576) was recently removed from service and relagated to a parts unit. They also have several former C&O GP-9's

Since my last post here in 2009 the Seminole Gulf Railroad has disposed of several of their GP-9's. First the two Geeps they had in the Sarasota Division GP-9 576(Ex- B&O/Chessie Unit 6614) and GP-9 577(Ex- B&O/Chessie Unit 6617) have been sold to Railserv in Texas to be made into genset type switchers. Basically they are recycling the frames and trucks.
Also GP-9 575(Ex- C&O Unit 6014) was also sold and sent to Railserv. The only surviving GP-9 from the Chessie System is GP-9 573(Ex-C&O 6042) which is used in Ft.Myers Fl. on a limited basis.
