So if I read that right, they started 4815 at Roslyn instead of Glenside to pick up the passengers left behind when 0219 skipped Roslyn and Ardsley. Good call by the dispatchers.

Trains were single tracking between Wayne Jct- Fern Rock on the (usually) inbound track. Outbound trains switched over to the "normal rails" at Tabor Jct. This was around 5:30. 6380 was the first train to come into Fern Rock the usual way, with the two trains that are before it (R5 and R3 outbound expresses) were using single tracks.

This was due to an apparent switch failure at Wayne Junction.

This was a long day in the effected area. I figured I would post both problems in that area

6:06am - TOL back on within Newtown Jct Int, unable to line switches or signal.
7:39am - K. Williams reports Maintainers can now take local control, switches and signals will be
lined from field location.
2:00pm - Track in position to weld IJ in order to facilitate remote control being restored to Desk 2.
3:33pm - MW and C&S personnel on-location report defective insulated joint replaced, TOL still
on. Personnel on-location advise TOL should drop out after first train, or soon after.
3:50pm - TOL still on after several trains. C&S Signal Desk advises there appears to be a second
defective insulated joint at the same location. Maintainer on-location advises he can/will take
Local control as needed. Will be able to operate over or around TOL and locked-up #1 switch and
single track Wayne to CP-Newtown Jct.
4:27pm - Train 842 arriving at CP-Newtown Jct, must wait for train 839 to clear FXC, operating
following northbound trains No.1 track Wayne to CP-Newtown around 842.
4:37pm - 842 on-move.
4:56pm - Maintainer at on-location lined #1 switch for FXC for train 6844.
5:01pm - #1 switch remaining in Reverse position, northbound trains operating No.1 track Wayne
to CP-Newtown Jct around #1 switch Reverse.
5:22pm - Dense concentration of northbound trains resulting in compounding delays, 0-20 minutes
en route. MW and C&S personnel still on-location, advise that second defective insulated joint
will be replaced tonight after last train.
8:22pm - TOL dropped out.

There were a lot of delayed trains heading to Center City from the Reading Main Line early this evening. My son and I were on Train# 363 from Elkins Park to Market East when we were delayed quite a bit at Temple Station. We were finally told that there was a disabled train directly ahead of us on Track 3. After several more minutes (a total of about 20+ minutes) the conductor finally mentioned that we could cross the platform and take the next train to CC.

On 1/6, train #6374 (express to WT) was unable to climb the grade out of the CCCT. It was a push-pull set. The train was backed up to Market East, where passengers were transfered to another train. Any details on this?

As I was coming from the BSL tonight, that train was going though Fern Rock. I'm pretty sure it was 2306 which was pushing the train. Which engine was on it yesterday?

Hey Guys,

I'm reporting from Septa #9542 - and we are at a dead stop eastbound just past paoli (have been for 15 mins now) . We are on the express track lined up right next to either the bomber cars or the comet cars on the local track. Neither train is going anywhere and no communication from crew. Trainview is reporting us as SUSPEND. Anyone know what is going on?

Update - we are back on track. Looks like we may have picked up the passengers from suspended 9538 at Daylesford and are now running with a 24 minute delay. No ideas as to why - but glad to be moving (it was getting COLD on here with those doors open!)

As I was waiting for 110 at cornwells this am, I had the radio on and kyw said some kind of accident. Later when I get t dc I will try and find out but by that time you will probably already know.

On SEPTA's website at 7:15 AM Tuesday:

"Glenside, Warminster, West Trenton and Lansdale-Doylestown passengers may experience delays of up to 20 minutes during their commute due to an incident near Fern Rock Station"
